Natural Remedies for PMS aka. “The Bitch Week”

The week before I bleed is usually my most challenging time of the month.

Easily agitated by just about anything (don't breathe too loud, lol), my mind is riding the rollercoaster of my hormones.

With a decrease in progesterone and an increase in estrogen, life feels, looks, and smells different, and in total, is exhausting.

About eight years ago, I had realllllly bad PMS & pain, so much pain that it led me down the road of learning about my womb.

Studying the ancient ways of feminine health started to alleviate my symptoms.

-Herbal yoni steams
-Moontime blood rituals (don't get freaked out. I store some period blood and offer it to a tree!)
-Jade eggs
-Yoga
-Naked sunbathing
-Earthing
-Eating with the seasons
-Castor oil packs
-Dog walks with cannabis

All these lil remedies added up, and after a few months, my painful periods went away.

Plus, I understood my body SO much more than I ever had.

I knew when I was ovulating.
How long my fertile opening was.
When my PMS symptoms would arrive & how long they'd stay.

I gained a broader perspective of my menstrual needs and found out it takes a little bit every day to keep my rollercoaster on track.

And that cannabis becomes extra tricky this time of the month too. I actually use less!

Instead of using cannabis to relieve my PMS symptoms like irritability, anxiety, depression, and paranoia, I give myself time and space to feel each one.

Allowing my emotions to come full circle lets the resistance soften so I can recycle it!

Taking one emotion and turning it into another is empowering, gentle, and super healthy for me.

Then I use cannabis to absorb it!

Later in the day or in the week, having a smoke sesh while walking my dogs brings my spectrum of emotional strength to the surface.

Reflecting on situations where I did SO GOOD compared to times before, like...

"Wow, Kendra, even though you felt super low and unmotivated, you didn't criticize yourself. Instead, you napped, read a book, chilled in the tub & let that ish pass."

Cannabis is potent when you mix it with PMS!

Because when our womanly hormones fluctuate, we're already in an altered state (like the feeling of being high.)
So using it after I come down from my pre-moon time wave is more beneficial to my well-being.
How about you?
