Cannabidiol and Athletes.
Currently, with the growing health buzz in the Cannabis industry, it's a no-brainer that it would find it's way into the fitness world.
Many athletes, sports specialists, and fitness enthusiasts are already utilizing or starting to flirt with the idea of using CBD in their training programs, for all of its natural health benefits.
Today I had the pleasure of speaking with Rob Schremp, a retired professional hockey player that is an advocate of using CBD for post-workout recovery with regards to the endocannabinoid system and its homeostasis provoking effects in the human body.
With the current scientific findings of the endocannabinoid receptors located in our bodies, we understand that when they're triggered by CBD, a cannabinoid found in cannabis, it's been shown that this has a direct impact on just about every reaction in the body.
These include stress-reduction, appetite, sleep, hormones, and inflammation which are all key components of a well-balanced human machine, athlete or not.
With cannabidiol currently making its way into the fitness world with this knowledge behind it, we're starting to see CBD infused protein powders, recovery massage oils, and even bath bombs. And with little-to-no known side effects of CBD, it's a safe way to help our bodies do what they do best: move.
So whether you're an athlete or just a mom who enjoys Zumba, anyone who enjoys moving can benefit from this simple, yet powerful plant. With CBD naturally aiding our bodies to cohabitate and move with more ease, I wouldn't be surprised to see cannabis being used more in the years to come.
